The real Met Gala pre-party might have been Usher’s Vegas concert – where Kim and Khloé Kardashian were spotted over the weekend dancing to the shirtless “My Boo” singer. The post-show recovery was swift. It had to be. Because, just a day later, Usher pulled up to the Met Gala red carpet with a quietly disruptive suit designed by Bianca Saunders.
Saunders, a London-born designer known for her elegant riffs on classic menswear, used a fluid design to pay tribute to her British and Jamaican background. It’s also her Met Gala debut. “I knew it would happen one day, but I didn’t know when,” says Saunders. Usher is an avowed fan of hers, and earlier this year, he encouraged the 30-year-old designer to break fashion’s biggest night out.
