Breanna Box is buzzing with excitement when we speak. The creative’s third and final round of birthday plans in New York has been finalised (her first two soirées were held in Los Angeles and Paris), and she is currently finalising a “chaotic outfit” inspired by James Bidgood’s 1971 film, Pink Narcissus. There’s also another reason the American designer is deliriously happy.
Box and Peter Dupont, the couple and founders of the glassware business Heven, recently unveiled a series of spherical glass bags at the Coperni autumn/winter 2022 show, which you’ll likely have seen all over social media by now. “Arnaud and Sébastien [the founder and creative director of Coperni] had their eyes on us for a little while,” the New York-based multi-hyphenates explain. “They DM-ed us, that then turned into a Zoom call, [and] then we were designing the bags.”
Once the pair, who began glass-blowing together at the start of the pandemic, agreed to create the bags, they reached out to one of their most trusted friends: the glass-blowing maven Josh Raiffe. “Josh was one of the first people that Breanna and I met when we went to Brooklyn Glass studio for the first time,” says Dupont, who hails from Copenhagen and took a glass-blowing class while in school. “We have a community of people, including Josh, who encouraged us to create.
