For Arnaud Vaillant and Sebastien Meyer, the co-founders of the whitehot French fashion brand Coperni, there was life before Bella Hadid starred in their spring/summer 2023 fashion show, and then there was life after. Ask anyone with a smartphone and one eye on the fashion game and they'll tell you that the nine-minute production during which a white dress was sprayed directly onto the supermodel's body by a team of spray can-wielding scientists was a watershed moment. And not only for the design duo who masterminded the idea, but also for the wider fashion world who watched with their chins on their Manolos as it played out.
