That's A Wrap On London Fashion Week SS22
Wed 22 Sep
Understandably and undeniably, this season at London Fashion Week felt like a celebration. Show spaces were immersive, bold or inviting - even those that remained in the fashion film world brought the drama. As if designers and brands had more to prove, to flex their stagnant muscles after the 16 months without runway shows, pundits and fanfare.

Elsewhere, Rejina Pyo presented SS22 at the London Aquatics Centre, with Olympians dipping and diving, while her candy coloured sheers, spaghetti-strap cross-body skirts and ultra-summery sporty styles did a lap around the perimeter. Harris Reed’s debut runway show was equally as climactic, at the Serpentine Pavilion, under the Harvest moon, Reed showcased their elegant, almost cinematic, selection of gowns and headdresses, all crafted from Oxfam’s bridal donations. All eyes were on Reed’s look for Iman at this year’s Met Gala, and this debut cemented why.

Celebrating their 15th anniversary, Erdem also opted for an open air show. A more subdued selection for SS22, Erdem had stripped back the costume elements and honed in on the brand’s signature florals and silhouette. A serendipitous rainbow even appeared as the models walked. The Institute of Digital Fashion created a showstopping event too - albeit a digital one. In collaboration with Richard Quinn, the LODF team brought fashion week to the masses with their AR experience. But it wasn’t just about showmanship and grand locations this season, there is lots to be said for all the breathtaking fashion shown as well: Simone Rocha’s was awe-inspiringly pretty, Fashion East’s Maximillian was divinely devilish and Richard Malone’s collaboration with Mulberry was the cherry on his best collection cake yet.
