GEORGIE’S REVIEW: KING & TUCKFIELD MENS SS21

Fri 10 Jul

Light, linen and airy, King & Tuckfield’s menswear collection for S/S 21 is an ode to London during Lockdown and the joy of nature and greenery now newly appreciated. Soft, inviting natural hues take shape on relaxed two-pieces, styled with a single dropped pearl earring which adds an air of charm – the latter is quickly becoming a summer menswear trend staple. Hot pinks nod to the floral explosions that we’ve only just seemed to notice now the city has slowed to an almost halt, as too does the pastel shirting. Calf-length socks in equally as floral tones hint to founder Stacey Wood’s Father, a WW2 Paratrooper and a regular point of reference for the brand.

King & Tuckfield’s seasonal print appears on matching silk shirt and traditionally cut bermuda short, the print designed using hand-painted watercolours, affirming this collection’s romantic feel. As ever with King & Tuckfield, the fabrication is king (pardon the pun) and is responsibly manufactured and made to last. Their use of merino wool, the pinnacle. Each of these languid shirts or long-line shorts are interchangeable with this season or the next. Engaging, approachable and a dreamy rebuttal to fast fashion and fast times.
