Coperni stages drive-in runway show at Paris Fashion Week – Evening Standard

The ultra cool Parisian label took it up a gear with a novel new show format.
The new digital fashion week format means taking a car to a fashion show is a distant memory for most editors and influencers.
But last night Parisian brand Coperni debuted an innovative drive-in style runway format which saw 70 guests picked up from their homes in 35 electric cars and driven (by PCR-tested chauffeurs) through the dusky streets of Paris to the AccorHotels Arena, one of the city’s largest stadiums built for 20,000, where they assembled into a linear formation in total darkness.
Car radios synced to announce show kick-off and as the first model hit the vehicle-lined runway, each individual set of headlights lit up allowing showgoers to view the collection through their window. “We live for in-person, real-life experiences and creating moments that engage the senses,” Coperni co-founder Sébastien Meyer tells The Standard. “It’s been tough for us to adapt to this new normal, but we have found ourselves being more resourceful and pushing boundaries nonetheless… There is no comparison with a true life experience.”
